Oman National Electronics and Frico offer freight packages to Sri Lankans during summer season
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, July 23 - 2003 at 16:24
- PRESS RELEASE
Oman National Electronics (ONE), part of the Al-Futtaim Group's electronics business and sole distributors of Panasonic products in the UAE, recently tied up with FRICO, one of the largest freight forwarders in the UAE, to offer a special freight forwarding service package to Sri Lankans travelling home.
The freight forwarding package comes in response to the growing demand for Panasonic products from Sri Lankans. ONE has a customer base comprised of a significant number of Sri Lankans who fulfil their own and their families' market needs by purchasing Panasonic products. Sam Turel, GM, Oman National Electronics, explained: "As part of our efforts to gain market penetration, we looked at specific communities who have demonstrated loyalty to Panasonic because of its reputation as a high-quality brand that is affordable. As a result, we noticed that the large Sri Lankan community in the UAE trusts and perceives the brand as most desirable, both here and in Sri Lanka. Panasonic subsequently decided to ease the process by which the products get delivered to Sri Lanka by linking in with FRICO, as a very reliable freight forwarding company."
Gamini Kannangara, Managing Director of FRICO, commented: "We are pleased with this tie-in with Panasonic, as it aligns FRICO, one of the largest freight forwarders in the UAE, with one of the best home appliance and audio visual equipment brands. Arguably more importantly, the agreement benefits the customer, who can now rest assured knowing their deliveries are hassle-free. We look forward to starting this first business venture and providing the Sri Lankan community based in the UAE with the professional service they have come to expect of FRICO."
Panasonic products will be forwarded to FRICO warehouses in Sri Lanka and can be collected by the customer from these locations.
