Bahrain drops gas deal with Iran

Bahrain's foreign affairs ministry Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa has announced a decision by the kingdom to freeze the gas import agreement with Iran until further notice, due to the troubled political relations between the two countries, Khaleej Times has reported. The agreement was signed between the two countries in 2008 to import one billion cubic feet of natural gas per day, but the project was delayed because of Iran's interference in Bahrain's internal affairs, he said.
