LinkDotNet, the internet services provider, participated as the main sponsor at the TEDx Cairo Conference for the second time in a row that took place on Saturday, May 21st, 2011 at the American University in Cairo.

TEDx Cairo gathers leading thinkers, experts, pioneers of culture and society to discuss their views, visions and search for a deeper understanding of the world hoping to transform this understanding into a better future for everyone.

The conference this year discussed "The Resurrection of faded dreams, inspired by laughs, hopes and tears" which can change not only a person's life but the path of an entire nation. The conference combined the best ideas that can change the Egyptian society for the better, as well as discussions and reviews of the most important challenges faced by Egypt during the current period and the proposed methods to face these challenges, and also to exchange views on past successes and challenges coming ahead.

In line with LinkDotNet's strategy in supporting such activities and its vision to develop and support young talents, the company has always been keen to participate in such conferences to contribute in current affairs with every possible way with the creative young people as they are the future of Egypt.

The conference hosted this year famous speakers, such as Ali Faramawy - Microsoft International, Sherif Abdel Azeem - Founder of Resala, Essam Youssef - Author of the Best selling "1/4 Egram", Bassem Youssef - Famous video blogger and the host of the Bassem Youssef show on youtube, Fadel Soliman - Founder of Bridges Foundation, Rania Siam - Director of the biotechnology graduate program, AUC, El Mostafa Higazy - President of ACME Strategies, Gehan Zaki - Archaeologist, Hesham El Gammal - Business Consultant, Fahd Alibinali - MIT Research Scientist, Ahmed Abdullah - Independent filmmaker and director of the award winning film Microphone', Mina Shenoda - Author of the best seller book "Estigmatizm El Mokh", Yasmin Said - Oklohama University graduate, Haytham Fadeel - CEO and Founder of Kngine.com, Ahmed Ghonim - Professor of Economics at Cairo University, Marwa Sharaf El Din - Womens Rights activist, Mohamed Abd El Motelb - Head of Nano Technology center in Nile University.

All speakers presented their ideas throughout the conference regarding topics of interest to the Egyptian society these days, and in the next phase.

The TED Conference started in the United States of America in 1985, it was held in the state of California. With the increase of its popularity each year, its participants included famous names such as Bill Gates, Al Gore, and the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown in addition to many other famous personalities. As a result of the enormous success, TEDx has been established; it is an independent entity that organizes events across the country.
