Cisco demonstrates next-generation 'On Stage' TelePresence experience in Oman at Comex 2011

In the presence of H.E. Mohammed Al Zubair Bin Ali, Advisor to His Majesty the Sultan for Economic Planning Affairs, the power of the Human Network was demonstrated through a high-resolution, life-sized, audio-visual display.

Abdulaziz Al-Kharousi, Director General of Investment & Sourcing at the Information Technology Authority (ITA), interacted with Abdullah Al Bahraini, Deputy CIO Ministry of Education who was situated at an external location and appeared 'virtually' onstage.

The TelePresence holographic experience was beamed in live, leveraging the full power of the network, onto the stage in front of attendees.

Whilst images on a flat screen may utilize optical tricks to create an illusion of depth, the TelePresence holographic experience recreates a true three-dimensional visual, with perfect sync between movement and speech. The technology offers a solution to facilitate virtual meetings across the network.
