Hertz personal car leasing moves into the showroom
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, July 29 - 2003 at 15:04
- PRESS RELEASE
Hertz UAE has given a new dimension to the country's first personal vehicle leasing programme which offers motorists all the benefits of car ownership, with none of the hassle.
Customers can walk into any of the 19 UAE locations of local distributor Trading Enterprises, sign for a lease or lease-to-own plan, and drive-away in the new vehicle of their choice.
The Hertz Personal Leasing plan also gives customers access to 24-hour roadside assistance and full vehicle warranty for the entire lease period of between one and four years.
Under the lease-to-own plan, the residual value of the car is included in monthly payments, and vehicle ownership is transferred to the customer at the conclusion of the contract.
Those unable to commit to a long-term lease can take advantage of a low payment 12-month option, which allows them to change to a new model at the end of each year.
"The beauty of this service is that customers have only to think about choosing the car, while we take care of the rest," said Bob Farrow, general manager of Hertz UAE, which is part of the Al-Futtaim Group.
They also have the predictability of costs, which is very important for expatriates, particularly those planning short to medium-term stays in the UAE.
"As one of the biggest players in the market, we've been able to negotiate with the insurance and auto maintenance companies to keep costs down," said Farrow. "And the monthly rate remains the same, even if you've had an accident, so the plan gives tremendous value for money." "Buying a car, particularly for those who are not sure how long they're going to be in the country, is not particularly attractive. Financing, maintenance, insurance, registration and replacement of vehicles all come at a cost, and you don't get back a lot of this money if you sell a couple of years later."
Hertz UAE operates ten car rental branches in Dubai, three in Abu Dhabi, two in Sharjah and one in Ras Al Khaimah.
