The TravelMate C110 is the second Tablet PC Acer has released in the Middle East. Last year, Acer was the first to launch a Tablet PC in the region with the introduction of the TravelMate C100.
'Our first Tablet PC took the lead in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) during Q4 last year and we expect the new TravelMate C110 to further boost our success in the Tablet PC sector,' said Krishna Murthy, General Manager, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd.
'Acer has already topped the Tablet PC market in EMEA by occupying 39 per cent market share. With the launch of the TravelMate C110 we expect this figure to grow even further.'
The TravelMate C110, which includes Intel Mobile Centrino technology that enables users to have wireless network connection, is created for people on-the-move. Weighing less than 1.5kg, the Tablet PC was designed to guarantee the maximum connection capability. It includes an integrated V.92 56Kbps modem/fax, a wired LAN interface and integrated Bluetooth technology.
'Because the TravelMate C110 is for people that are mobile, it is light to carry and has about 25 per cent more battery life than others in the market,' said Eugene Thomas, Director, Business Development, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd.
Designed with business people in mind, it offers a 10.4 inch LCD screen - that rotates 180 degrees, a keyboard and 'pen' input possibilities. 'The TravelMate C110 challenges what people have come to expect from notebooks. With this model, users can do everything from taking notes during meetings to reading documents like an e-book,' said Thomas.
'The TravelMate C110 offers unprecedented ease-of-use, functionality and versatility to the business users of the Middle East. At Acer we are committed to making computing more practical and easier to use and we expect sales of our Tablet PCs to continue rising,' added Thomas.
