The 33 year old joins SCB UAE from Standard Chartered Bank in Kenya, where his banking career spanned six years. His work experience included time as Area General Manager, East Africa; Head of Operations; Head of Service Quality; Executive Director Kenya, and Head of Consumer Banking.

Awori holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Manchester, UK, and a Masters of Business Adminstration, from McGill University, Canada. He is married with two young children.
