- PRESS RELEASE
'Global Water: Oil & Gas Summit' launched by The CWC Group and supported by Global Water Intelligence will take place in May 2012, Dubai and looks at the role and demand of water in the oil and gas industry, addressing the shortfalls, reflecting on solutions and bringing together the key players in both the water, oil and gas industries. The summit is being ran with the official support of the Government of Dubai, UAE Ministry of Environment and Water and the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.
Global water production in oil and gas fields is estimated at around 250 million barrels per day compared to 80 million barrels per day of oil.
The responsible management of this is crucial to the profitability of the oil and gas industry, and a key focus for technological development.
The International World Water Council is backing this conference, consisting of key figures and organisations within both the water, oil and gas industries.
The council will collectively prepare and review the programme and presentations to build a forum that will bring together senior experts in oil and gas engineering, geology, logistics, construction, refining and project management together with senior executives from the water industry.
Conference Producer and Project Manager Shane White commented: "Without sufficient water management oil and gas production in areas such as the Middle East and Central America, will begin to decline with far reaching consequences regionally and for the whole energy market, so this event launch will be a timely addition to the calendar for key individuals to become involved."
