This took place when Al Mutaiwee received Vicky Pantazopulou, the Vice President of Arab-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce & Industry at DCCI, and Fahad Al Gergawi the director of Trade and Business Development Dept. of DCCI attended the meeting.

The invitation to participate in this conference was sent to all Arab and European chambers. An international exhibition for products from the participating countries has also been organized to coincide with the conference. The exhibition will stretch over an area of 10,000 m2, and each country will be allocated space over 200 m2.

The event will take place under the patronage of the Greek Government, which will be represented by the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Transportation & Communications, Development and Agriculture. The conference will also be attended by Amr Moussa, Secretary General of The Arab League, in addition to ministers from the participating countries, representing sectors related to trade, finance and business, besides economy, parliament and diplomatic VIPs.

Pantazopulou stated during the meeting that the Greek Government is highly interested in creating new channels to develop and consolidate economic cooperation with Arab and European counties. The Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation Establishment which is organizing the event ,will prepare in coordination with the Secretariat-General of Economy Relationships and International Development of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with participant countries in the Euromediterranean meeting of businessmen in Athens, chambers and other authorities, a complete file about each of the participating countries. The data related to each country will be processed in a special way in order to prepare an easy file containing complete information about each participant, emphasizing such information regarding political, economic, legislative, financial, statistical and investment aspects.

The Greek guest added: "Through organizing and developing such events in a continuous way, we are trying to re-write the history of the relations between Greece and the Arab World". She also pointed out that the joint bilateral work must be realized on all levels to achieve that objective.

In addition, Pantazopulou pointed out to the importance of activating the tourism cooperation, and promoting tourism between the UAE and Greece saying: "It is surprising that we see visitors coming from our country to Dubai for business purposes only, and we don't see a multitude of Greek tourists coming here. The meetings and conferences being held through an event like this, would create opportunities to reinforce dialogue, cooperation and signing deals in the different sectors of tourism, export, import, finance, business and trade, etc...".

She continued: "We, in Greece, were keen for a long time to export our agricultural products to the Arab World and other countries in the world as well, but for the time being, we are able to develop our production in new fields, such as fine technology, open new markets for our products, establish business relationships with multi-national companies and set up joint venture companies with foreign firms".

The Director General of DCCI welcomed the invitation, and assured that he will relay it to the competent and official authorities to take the necessary steps to accept it.
