Passenger traffic at Lebanon airport off sharply in August

Lebanon's Rafik Hariri International Airport witnessed a 50% drop in passenger traffic during the first week of August compared to the same period last month, as the holy month of Ramadan and unrest in Syria playing a key role in the fall, Daily Star has reported. Official figures have shown that air passenger traffic to the small Mediterranean country fell in the first week of August from a daily average of 15,000 to 7,000, 50% less than traffic recorded for the same period in the month of July.
