- PRESS RELEASE
Toshiba Gulf Computer Systems Division once again confirmed its market dominance in Saudi Arabia based on the results of the most recent GfK Retail and Technology market audit. According to the study, Toshiba topped the notebook segment in market share with an average score of 24.4% from January 2011 to May 2011.
In terms of growth rate, Toshiba showed an average rate of 78.2% from January 2011 to May 2011, with 100.44% for the month of April and 118.95% for the month of May, compared to the same periods previous year.
"Apart from the excellent GfK market study results which placed Toshiba in the lead in terms of sales unit percentage, Toshiba is also the most visible brand in the showrooms in Saudi Arabia," said John Maliakal, Regional Manager, Toshiba Gulf Computer Systems Division for the countries of KSA, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain.
"Toshiba has a wide product and price range but it was particularly successful in selling mid-range and high-end products, which signifies that Saudi Arabia places high value on premium products and brand reliability," he continued.
An important factor in this achievement is the excellent after-sales service that Toshiba provides. Toshiba has the widest service network in the KSA, which adds value to the brand. The various channel programs for the resellers and channel partners are also key elements in this success. Toshiba conducts training programs for the channel every six months and provides extensive support to its resellers across the Kingdom. In addition, Toshiba is keen on various marketing activities which lead to a greater brand awareness and consumer confidence.
"While these cited figures reinforce Toshiba's market leadership in Saudi Arabia, we are further determined to enhance our service towards our customers, strengthen our relationship with channel partners in the Kingdom and continue delivering highly reliable notebooks," said Santosh Varghese, Regional General Manager, Toshiba Gulf.
"Toshiba is looking forward to sustaining this market leadership through additional channel programs, marketing activities, service support and brand innovation," he added.
