Jacky's Techno Fest starts at Sahara Centre

"This is the first year of the Jacky's Techno Fest and I would like to thank our partners for their encouragement and support in this event," said Soni Tolani, Executive Director, Jacky's Electronics LLC. Brands featured at Jacky's Techno Fest include HP, Compaq, Targus, Toshiba, Acer, Creative, Samsung and Val-U-Shop.

According to Tolani, the relatively untapped Sharjah consumer market and the growing popularity of Sahara Centre contributed to the company's decision to hold Techno Fest in the mall.

"As one of the first stores to open in Sahara Centre, we have had to opportunity to observe first hand how the mall has developed. There is currently a mall-wide sale and this generates a good deal of traffic through the mall - making it the best time to hold Techno Fest," he said

Jacky's display area for Techno Fest, which was opened on Sunday by Sahara Centre Managing Director, Gavin Cox, encompasses some 100 square metres and includes a games area for people to try out some of the latest electronic games, such as Hulk on PlayStations.

Techno Fest, which ends on September 15, has drawn very good public response from almost as soon as it opened. "People visiting the mall have stopped at Techno Fest not only to buy equipment but in, some cases, also to understand the benefits of different features," said Shivam Goyal, Retail Manager, Jacky's.

With 10-12 trained salespeople on hand to help people, Techno Fest is also helping to break down technology-related inhibitions as prospective customers are approaching sales people to understand better what the new technology offers, Goyal said.
