Scala boosts productivity for Saudi Arabia's ARTIC
- Saudi Arabia: Thursday, August 21 - 2003 at 11:45
- PRESS RELEASE
Scala Business Solutions is providing Saudi Arabia's Arabian Tile Company Limited (ARTIC), part of the Aggad Group, with its ground-breaking iScala 2.1 enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution.
Since that time, Scala has allowed ARTIC to increase market share, revenues and reduce costs.
With more than 500 employees and a turnover in excess of SR70m, ARTIC is expanding every year - and Scala's software solutions can help ensure the company stays ahead of the competition.
Suleiman Bashiti, General Manager, Arabian Tile Co. Ltd, said: "The old DOS-based system lacked integration, communication and efficiency. Scala addressed some core problems for us: the lack of communication between sites; a lack of system integration; the need for accurate costing to stay competitive, and provision of timely information for decision makers."
Bashiti cited Scala's global support, multi-language capabilities, special emphasis on manufacturing and advanced functionality as key factors in the decision to adopt the state-of-the-art solution.
Sister company, Rana Confectionery Co. was already using Scala software, so its expertise was already tried and tested as far as ARTIC was concerned.
Ziad Aqrabawi, Regional Managing Director, Scala Middle East & Africa, said: "Saudi Arabia is just beginning to embrace ERP, and ARTIC is to be commended for taking the bold decision to adopt our advanced technology. It will not only enjoy greater business efficiencies than ever before, but also all the benefits of early adoption, such as competitive advantage and better financial controls."
ARTIC did not take the decision to move to a truly collaborative ERP system lightly. Consultancy firm Allied Business Developers- ABD - was employed to evaluate and choose the most suitable solution based on ARTIC's pre-requisites. Great Plains, Sage, Oracle, Hollol and Focus were all considered, before the final decision to go with Scala was taken.
For ARTIC, value for money was a major factor, but also, according to Bashiti, "Scala's team reflected great confidence in their software and personnel, and our previous experience showed Scala has a very good support team that can deliver timely support.
"ARTIC hopes the new system will help us grow at the pace we want, allow our operations to be dynamic, and connect the main sites together online, resulting in smooth information flow," he said.
ARTIC will use SCALA software in the following areas: financial, manufacturing, inventory, sales and dispatch, payroll and project management.
