BenQ Middle East builds on success in LCD monitor market
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, August 26 - 2003 at 11:29
- PRESS RELEASE
BenQ (pronounced BEN-CUE), the region's leader in digital lifestyle products, today announced the launch of the FP991 LCD monitor. Aimed at corporate and small business users, the new monitor will bolster BenQ's market share in the growing liquid crystal display (LCD) monitor sector.
The rotating functionality is proving particularly useful for professionals who need to view images, spreadsheets or applications from both a horizontal and vertical perspective.
"BenQ's FP991 is one of our most innovative models and we're delighted to bring this technology to the Middle East," said Robert Dung, managing director, BenQ Middle East. "We've had advance interest from designers, construction specialists and engineers across the Middle East, so we're confident that it will prove a profitable addition to our portfolio of LCD monitors."
Key reasons for LCD monitors success in the Middle East include improved performance, enhanced design and sharper brightness and contrast levels. In addition, consumers' health concerns have led them to select LCD monitors, because they emit no radiation, unlike cathode ray tube (CRT) monitors. The addition of monitors targeted at specific professional groups adds another incentive for customers to upgrade.
"LCD monitors are selling well in the Middle East's corporate sector because companies here are aware of the benefits that they can deliver. Not only are LCD monitors easy for employees to use, but having them in the office - either at workstations or mounted on the wall - projects a modern and progressive image to clients and visitors," added Manish Bakshi, director and chief operating officer, BenQ Middle East.
Commenting on the wide number of uses customers can put the new monitor to, Bakshi added, "The FP991 is suitable for displaying everything from the latest stock quotes to complex graphics in a desktop environment, but can also be used to broadcast images across an office environment. A series of models can also have a striking effect placed side-by-side in a video wall."
Featuring a 19-inch screen, the FP991 offers the user high brightness and contrast levels, and a slender 18mm border. The new innovation from the leading lifestyle technology company also supports multiple resolutions up to 1280x1024 with high brightness and a contrast ratio of 700:1.
BenQ's monitor also has 25ms signal response time and ultra-wide viewing angle. Furthermore, it displays crisp and vivid images and is suitable for numerous applications including streaming full screen video.
