- PRESS RELEASE
Emirates National Oil Company Limited (ENOC) LLC and subsidiary Emirates Petroleum Products Company (EPPCO) LLC have been made the energy partners of choice for Dubai 2003, the organisation that will host the forthcoming Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in September.
Around 16,000 delegates are expected to attend the annual sessions, including Heads of State, Prime Ministers and senior government officials, as well as finance ministers and Central Bank governors, representing 184 member countries.
Dubai 2003 General Coordinator, Ibrahim Belselah, welcomed the new partnership, saying: "Dubai 2003 is delighted that ENOC/EPPCO have become our energy partners and will quite literally fuel the transportation of our VIP guests and participants at the Annual Meetings."
"We have always sought to work with the best quality partners and do all that we can to help UAE companies to benefit from the Annual Meetings. I would like to thank ENOC/EPPCO for their fabulous support and range of services that they will provide for Dubai 2003."
Hussain Sultan, ENOC Group Chief Executive and Board Member, said: "Encouraging the growth of Dubai and the UAE as a gateway to business in the Middle East has always been one of the ENOC group's key objectives. ENOC's contribution in supporting the transportation needs of the DUBAI 2003 meetings will fuel this growth.
"When ENOC was launched ten years ago, it was seen as a landmark in the economic development of Dubai. Ten years later, the World Bank and IMF meetings are another landmark occasion in the history of the Emirate, so it is apt that ENOC is supporting this event with its core expertise of fuel supply."
The sponsorship support also extends to washing the 540-vehicle fleet every day, with two dedicated car wash lines operating around the clock during the event. Drivers can also get the vehicles washed at the extensive network of ENOC and EPPCO service stations throughout Dubai during normal operational hours.
Drivers will be provided with EPPCO SELECT corporate fleet payment cards, to enable swift, efficient control of fuel and car washes.
ENOC/EPPCO was chosen because of its extensive network and professionalism. It joins other partners Audi, Emirates Airline, Masafi Mineral Water Company, Clifford Chance Law Office and National Bank of Dubai.
The Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund were first held in Washington DC in 1946. They are hosted by an international city one year in three. The UAE and Dubai were selected because of their highly developed transportation and logistics infrastructure, growing importance as a financial hub and established position as an oasis of opportunity.
In just one decade, Emirates National Oil Company, a wholly-owned Government of Dubai company, has become an international energy player, with 26 active subsidiaries and joint ventures, across more than 20 countries.
ENOC aims to promote shareholder interests through the development of further downstream and upstream activities in the oil and gas sector and beyond. ENOC, and its subsidiary EPPCO, have the most comprehensive network of service stations in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, an ISO-accredited refinery and state-of-the-art processing and terminalling facilities. Its diverse business portfolio includes retail, lubricants, shipping, aviation, LPG, real estate, IT, travel and automotive sectors.
