DHA Director General receives Council-General of Thailand

The Director General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) welcomed the Council General of Thailand, who recently visited the DHA headquarters. H.E Mr. Chalotorn Phaovibul, Consul-General of Thailand in Dubai, met with His Excellency Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director General of the DHA to explore and enhance mutual cooperation between the two countries in the field of healthcare.

The meeting was also attended by senior DHA members and officials from the Thailand Consulate in Dubai.

From the DHA, senior members including Dr Mohammad Al Olama, CEO of Hospital Services Sector and Abdullah Nasser, Assistant Director of Treatment and Oversees Patients' Affairs Office, attended the meeting.

H.E. Al Murooshid and H.E Phaovibul discussed ways to boost cooperation especially in the medical field.

His Excellency Al Murooshid, provided the Consul-General with an overview of the Dubai Healthcare system and highlighted the high level of quality healthcare available in the Emirate of Dubai.

Taking this meeting forward, the two parties decided to explore mutual cooperation in healthcare and gain from each other's expertise as well as share knowledge about important healthcare developments.

The Department of Health and Medical Services (DOHMS), which was created in 1973, was the functioning authority that almost exclusively focused on health service delivery.

Therefore, the DHA was created, in June 2007, by Law 13 issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, with an expanded vision to include strategic oversight for the complete health sector in Dubai and enhance private sector engagement.
