Wataniya Telecom adds fashion, style & comics to 'Action' offerings

Wataniya Telecom announced today the launch of Action 'CoolZone', a new service in its 'Action' portfolio, which delivers weekly updates and news on the world's latest fashion, lifestyle accessories and hot gadgets to Kuwaiti mobile users via a Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) sent directly to their mobile phones.
Wataniya also announced the launch of Garfield comics, offering the best of the world-renowned comic character to its 'Action' subscribers. Garfield comics can be selected and sent from Wataniya Telecom's website by going to the comics & fun section at http://www.wataniya.com/funtec/comics/ and entering the Blue Zone. Garfield comics can also be sent automatically to a customer's mobile by sending a subscription command via SMS to 1433 with the message: sub garfield. Action users will then receive weekly the funniest animated Garfield comics and comic strips through colorful MMS messages sent once a week to their mobiles.
"With the new CoolZone service, we are bringing our Action subscribers colorful insights into the minds of some of the world's leading designers, whether in fashion, furniture or lifestyle accessories. For the first time, Kuwaiti mobile users can now stay up to date with the latest in style and fashion through their MMS-enabled handsets," said Fuad Al Ablani, Assistant GM, Wataniya Telecom.
Subscribers to Action today can send and receive Photo Messaging (also known as MMS), access Arabic comics, Qu'ranic verses, Blue Mountain Arts e-cards, wallpapers, screensavers, cartoons and horoscopes, compose and send greeting cards and access the Internet as well as their email accounts (from Hotmail to Yahoo and other popular local providers). Action also delivers Kuwait's first movie preview service directly to the handsets, featuring the latest blockbuster movies before they arrive to the Kuwaiti market.
"Action offers our subscribers Kuwait's most dynamic and colorful mobile service that allows them to do more with their mobiles than ever before, including access to new things, new value, new variety and new colorful fun that is tailored to their lifestyles," continued Ablani.
Action is available to all Wataniya post paid and pre-paid "Xpress" customers. Between 1st September and 1st October 2003, all customers with GPRS and MMS featured mobiles will be able to access Action with unlimited service for a newly introduced promotional price.
