Ahlia University organizes accreditation workshop

In cooperation with Brunel University (UK), Ahlia University organized a workshop on Academic accreditation for the programs offered by College of Business and Finance. A team from Brunel is currently on an official visit to Ahlia University to present Brunel's experience on obtaining academic accreditation to its programs from European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) and Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) as well as extend the accreditation to the Brunel Ph.D. programme offered at Ahlia University.

Dalia Gawish, the Accreditation Administrator at Brunel Business School, Brunel University, explained the necessary steps needed to apply for academic accreditation as well as the gaps and deficiencies required to be addressed in order to be accredited.

Mrs. Gawish focused on administration and academic aspects and the need for complete integration between education and scientific research.

She highlighted the importance of role that will be played by the academic and administrative staff throughout the accreditation process. She praised the excellent contribution made by the faculty members as experienced researchers and supervisors of the PhD scholars enrolled in the PhD programme offered by Brunel through Ahlia University. Further she explained that the credentials of Ahlia University faculty will be immensely useful during the accreditation process.

Professor Abdulla Al Hawaj, the President of Ahlia University, attended the workshop which was also attended by Vice Presidents, Deans, Faculty of College of Business and Finance as well as staff members of the Centre for Quality Assurance and Accreditation.

Ahlia University received important commendations form Quality Assurance Authority for Education and Training in the institution and program reviews which encourages the university to apply for international accreditation especially from AACSB for the programs offered by the College of Business and Finance. Professor Al Hawaj emphasized the University's firm commitment to meet the requirements for academic accreditation.
