New man to drive DaimlerChrysler Middle East

DaimlerChrysler Overseas (DCOS) has appointed Nicholas Speeks as CEO and President of DaimlerChrysler Middle East with effect from August 1, 2003.

DaimlerChrysler Middle East, based in the UAE, provides the link between DCOS at the headquarters in Stuttgart and the distributor network for Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, trucks and buses as well as Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge vehicles throughout the Gulf region and the Levant.

Nicholas Speeks, who is married with two children, has worked within the sales and marketing area of DaimlerChrysler in various capacities for over 24 years.

He joined the Mercedes-Benz organisation in the UK in 1979 and has since worked in Germany, China, Iraq, Kuwait, Vietnam and, most recently, in Poland where he was responsible for the Mercedes-Benz passenger car and van division.
"I am very pleased to be back in the Middle East and look forward to working closely with our partners in this dynamic and challenging environment," said Speeks. "My objective is to secure our market leading presence with all our brands through increasing involvement with and the support of our partners and customers."
