77 UAE nationals graduate from HSBC's Summer Training Programme

HSBC has celebrated the end of its Annual Summer Training Programme for Cadet trainees.
The aim of the programme, which started on 1July and ended on 27 August, is to provide students from high schools and colleges with an opportunity to gain valuable work experience during their summer vacation.
Abdul Jalil Yousuf Darwish, Vice Chairman and Executive Director, HSBC Bank Middle East said, "For years the bank has provide training for UAE nationals to enable them join this vital sector; and this remains our commitment. We believe that our efforts are successful with more than 30% of our total staff and 75% of the branch managers being UAE nationals. I hope that our efforts will continue to contribute positively in the Emiratization process."
" Our summer training programme has become an important feature in the investment we make to the training and development of UAE Nationals. It is through such programmes that the students can practice what they learn at school and college", added Azzah Al-Sharhan HR Planning and Development Manager. "For two months the trainees become part of the HSBC team, which is an enjoyable and valuable experience not only for them, but for us too. The programme enables these students to make early career choices. We have already offered full time employment and sponsorships to a number of our summer trainees and look forward to receiving many of them again next year, " she added.
During the ceremony, 17 year old, Faisal Jassim from the School of Scientific Research spoke of his experience: " I consider myself to be lucky to have attended this excellent summer training programme. The experience was truly enjoyable and educational. I learned that so much about banking, human relations and customer service. I can honestly say that the end of the programme has come too soon for me and I would have liked to spend more time with HSBC, learning and acquiring even more about international banking. I look forward to one day join the World's Local Bank to continue the same wonderful experience I had this summer".
