- Saudi Arabia: Saturday, September 06 - 2003 at 15:17
- PRESS RELEASE
DHL, the leading express and logistics company, has taken delivery of a new fleet of 200 vans from Ford and Toyota to serve its customers in Saudi Arabia.
"We needed to expand our transport fleet as part of a massive investment program that is designed to cover the increasing amount of business in a rapidly growing market, and our decision to choose models by Ford and Toyota was reached after careful study of safety and capacity specifications to ensure that the new fleet meets our requirements well into the future," said Harlis Malkic, DHL Country Manager Saudi Arabia. "The timing of this order happily coincided with the introduction of the new corporate identity, enabling us to launch our splendid new fleet in the new DHL colours and make the most striking impact."
The new vans are bigger, safer and more comfortable than before. Equipped with airbags, the air-conditioned vehicles are wider and higher to enable bigger items to be loaded and to capacitate a larger number of shipments.
The new corporate identity is being applied to internal and external collateral worldwide, including the DHL fleet of aircraft and the uniforms of delivery and collection staff. DHL offices, air express centers and signage are being re-branded to match. It is accompanied by the new slogan "We move the world" which sums up the strength of DHL as the global brand for all Deutsche Post World Net Group express and logistics business.
