- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Holding, one of the region's largest conglomerates, announced that it will be sponsoring the second annual Women's Run, to be held on the Palm Jumeirah, on Friday, November 11.
Dubai Holding's support for the 5k and 10K Women's Run, and its four-year support for the Dubai Marathon, are part of the company's efforts to encourage local initiatives to promote healthier and fitter lifestyles among UAE residents. In each of the past four years Dubai Holding has entered the largest team of runners in the Dubai Marathon.
In 2007, Dubai Holding was the first company in the Middle East to launch a comprehensive Corporate Wellness programme, designed to help employees attain optimal health and wellbeing through a number of means, including healthy nutrition, physical activity and stress management. In 2010, the programme was enhanced by a partnership with Vielife, the global provider of employee health solutions, which gives staff access to a set of proven solutions such as wellbeing assessments, online personalized reports, targeted risk assessments, and lifestyle management programs.
Cedric Betis, Wellness Manager Dubai Holding said: "Dubai Holding fully supports the UAE government's efforts to fight obesity and physical inactivity among the country's population and encourages other organizations to follow its example by implementing a corporate wellness programme. The introduction of wellness programmes is proven to have a beneficial impact on a company's performance, leading to reduced healthcare costs, increased productivity and improved work place morale."
Runners wishing to take part in either the 5k or 10k runs can register online at 5kwomensrun.com. The deadline for registrations is November 7, 2011.
