Air Arabia announces appointment of Director of Operations and Maintenance

Air Arabia, UAE's third national airline and the first airline of its kind in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region, has announced the appointment of Captain Glenn Burns, Director of Operations & Maintenance to its management team.

"This is a highly significant appointment for Air Arabia. Captain Burns' professional caliber and travel industry experience is integral to our successful operation," announced Adel Ali, Air Arabia's CEO. "We are fortunate to have a person of such ability to fill this strategic position and we are delighted to welcome him to the Air Arabia team," he added.

Of Canadian origin, Captain Burns brings with him 24 years of flight operations experience with Air Canada, where he worked as a Flight Manager as well as a Senior Flight instructor for the Airbus 319/320/321 fleet. In this latter role, Captain Burns was directly responsible for the training of the fleet's newly hired line pilots in addition to simulator programs and instructor competency requirements.

"I am pleased to be part of Air Arabia's founding team; it is an exciting new project that presents a new business model to the region. I look forward to our first flight and later successes to come," said Captain Burns.
