The Dhofar Municipality - Festival department is responsible for marketing, promoting and organizing Khareef Festival a 48-day event that recently concluded on the 21st of September after successfully attracting a record high of over 1,100,000 visitors making Salalah as the most important summer tourist destination in the region.
The Khareef Festival is very popular among tourist from across the world and especially from the GCC Countries; the festival also attracts many tourists from within Oman. By participating prominently at Discover Oman, the Festival Department of Dhofar Municipality aims to attract huge numbers of Domestic Tourist, both Omanis and expatriates from Muscat and neighboring Wilayats. The Festival Department Exhibition Stand will provide complete information on the next years Khareef Festival activities and will familiarize visitors with various tourism and adventure destinations and facilities available at Salalah.
The Dhofar Municipality - Tourism Department welcomes all visitors to Discover Oman where their representatives will provide first hand information.

The Dhofar Municipality - Festival Department has confirmed a prominent presence at Discover Oman - Oman's First Adventure & Tourism Exhibition to be held from 25th September - 3 October 2003 at Oman International Exhibition Centre.
