Young Arab Leaders (YAL) Bahrain on 14th November held its first event marking the commencement of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2011, Mentorship Madness. 60 aspiring Bahraini entrepreneurs were offered the chance to meet and interact with successful entrepreneurs who were mentors for the night at an informal networking dinner held in the Capital Club at the Bahrain Financial Harbour.
The event provided the budding entrepreneurs with the ideal opportunity to explore the process of opening their own business and draw upon the mentors' various experiences. In addition, participants received first-hand insight and advice on developing their own business ventures.
Next in the lineup of GEW 2011 events is 'Turn your Talent into a Career' which will take place at the Obai & Hill offices today (15th November), and will help young aspiring artists turn their talent into a career. 'Start Up Circuit' (16th November) will follow the next day and will give budding entrepreneurs a step-by-step guide through the legal processes to be followed to start a business.
GEW 2011 will conclude on 17th November with an interactive presentation given by one of the region's top entrepreneurs, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Founder and Chairman of the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) at the Sheraton Hotel.
All events aim to inspire young entrepreneurs and connect them with others who are like-minded, so that ideas can be exchanged while also providing mentoring for the next generation of enterprising talent to help them pursue their dreams. This will be the third year that YAL Bahrain organizes GEW in Bahrain, a world-wide initiative celebrated by over 120 countries across the world which supports YAL's aim to create a culture of entrepreneurship in the Arab world.
