Dr. James Fellabaum, holder of a Doctorate degree in Education Administration has been appointed to head Dubai American Academy as the school's new Director.

The Dubai American Academy, a Kindergarten to Grade 12 School, now in its sixth year, offers an American curriculum leading to a High School Diploma together with the option of an International Baccalaureate Diploma.

The school, one of the finest in the region, is set on a sprawling one million square foot campus in Al Barsha that features state of the art facilities and resources including a world-class library media centre and three large ICT labs that are complemented by mini ICT labs located just outside classrooms for immediate access to ICT facilities.

In addition to a new and impressive performing arts auditorium flanked by an outdoor amphitheatre designed in true roman style, Dubai American Academy has also recently added an expansive, fully equipped indoor sports hall to complement their extensive outdoor sports facilities that include playing fields, running track, Kindergarten play areas and swimming pool.

Dr. Fellabaum, previously High School Principal at the American School of Dubai where he held his position for seven years, has extensive overseas experience with international American curriculum schools including postings in Colombia, Ghana and Italy. In addition to his Doctorate degree he holds Masters degree in Guidance and School Administration.

Commenting on his new role with Dubai American Academy, Dr. Fellabaum noted that he was looking forward to leading the further development of Dubai American Academy as the school moves towards its first graduation ceremony this June and towards the accreditation visits from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges as well as the European Council of International Schools scheduled for later this year.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead this dynamic school," said
Dr. Fellabaum, "we have an excellent team of experienced teachers and education professionals, most of them from North America who are dedicated to helping each student realize their full potential, and we have outstanding resources and facilities to support the high standards of education that Dubai American Academy provides," he added.
