Mr. Keun S. Yoo, Senior Manager, Home Appliances Division, Samsung Gulf Electronics introducing the 'twister' technology-equipped vacuum cleaner in the region. Samsung expects its vacuum cleaner revenues to grow by 48 per cent.
With the launch of this environment friendly, 'twister' technology-equipped 8900 series, Samsung further aspires to strengthen its leadership position among the top 3 players in the region.

Launching the premium range, Mr. D.K. Byeon, President, Samsung Gulf Electronics (SGE) said "Today, Samsung is among the leading manufacturer of vacuum cleaners in the region. We have over 18 per cent market share in the region, and the launch of the region's first-of-a-kind 'twister' technology-equipped range will further expand our leadership position in the region. This year we expect our vacuum cleaner revenues to grow by over 48 per cent in region."

The 'Twister System' is a revolutionary technology that makes vacuuming effective and economical by filtering and separating large dust particles into a transparent plastic cup. This ensures that the vacuum bag, which is in the form of Cassette Filter, remains empty for a longer period, as it only fills up with dirt and not with large dust particles, thereby increasing the vacuum cleaner's lifespan.

"In 2002, Samsung Electronics invested US$ 2.4 billion, approximately 7 per cent of its revenue, in research and development (R&D). With six research centers located in Korea and nine research centers worldwide, Samsung Electronics has established a strong Global R&D Network that drives our effort to develop leading technologies." Mr. Byeon added.

"Twister technology is the outcome of this research coupled with valuable customer feedback that the company has incorporated to develop state-of-the-art vacuum cleaners," he added.
Mr. Keun S. Yoo, Senior Manager of the Home Appliances Division, Samsung Gulf Electronics said, "This new technology can also be extended to low end models that enhances its performance and makes vacuuming affordable. Firstly, because of the system filter it separates large dust particles before they get into the cassette filter. Secondly, because of this filter the customer incurs less cost on the dust collection bags when compared with conventional vacuum cleaners.

"The second benefit of the 'Twister system' is that it maintains constant suction power for optimum vacuuming and energy efficiency. If the vacuum suction isn't constant, vacuum performance will be less than optimal," concluded Mr. Yoo.
