- PRESS RELEASE
Development company Diyar Al Muharraq organized a visit to the Bahrain Parents Care Home to spend time with the women there on the occasion of Bahraini Women's Day, which falls on the 1st of December every year. Female staff members dedicated the day to the women in the Home, talking to them, sharing stories and enjoying with them the lunch that they had organized for the senior citizens.
It showed again how different life was then, and how far modern women had progressed. Lifestyles have changed and modern practices have opened up a world of opportunity for women today, but the experiences shared by the women in the Home illustrated how the basic strength of character and personality of Bahraini women had its roots in the past generations.
Through this, and many such thoughtful activities conducted on a regular basis, Diyar Al Muharraq has pushed the meaning of corporate responsibility to new levels of endeavor. The programmes of activities are a part of the continuous initiatives that Diyar Al Muharraq has engaged in to support and strengthen the social and cultural infrastructure of Bahrain.
Mr. Aaref Hejres, CEO of Diyar Al Muharraq emphasized the company's social responsibility on the occasion of Bahraini Women's Day.
"We are very pleased that Diyar Al Muharraq women staff members have undertaken this socially and culturally positive initiative to visit the Bahrain Parents Care Home on the occasion of Bahraini Women's Day. This day gives us an opportunity to acknowledge the significant role of women in our society, and to their contribution to making the home, the work place and the country a better place to live in. We keenly appreciate our responsibility towards all communities in Bahrain, and especially towards the dynamic women who have been the backbone of our development and success. In this context we felt what better way to show our appreciation and mark this special day than to honor the senior women citizens of Bahrain. All of us have a responsibility towards the older generation; they need to be recognized and respected for their age, their experience and past contributions. Diyar Al Muharraq considers it an honor and a duty not only to show our appreciation of their contribution as women, but to put in every effort towards making old age a comfortable period."
Diyar Al Muharraq, one of Bahrain's biggest mixed-use residential urban developments, is well recognized as a keen advocate of corporate responsibility towards different societies and groups, creating through their work greater public awareness of key issues and events.
