Sharjah to host Top Radisson SAS regional meeting

The meeting, from September 30 to October 1st, will bring together general managers from as far apart as Egypt and Oman, to identify new strategies for the rapidly growing group over the next year.

The intense three-day meet will be preceded by a roadshow when the general managers will promote their properties to corporate clients, key accounts, tour operators and travel agents.

"The Radisson SAS name now appears on 12 first class regional properties, and we intend to maintain the rapid growth we have seen in the last two years," said Mike Pilkington, Regional Director, Sales and Marketing, Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts. "The UAE was chosen for the road show because it is proving to be an excellent leisure and business travel feeder market for properties around the region.

"There is already strong regional market confidence in the Radisson SAS brand, as we have been awarded management contracts within the last year for hotels in Sharjah, Beirut, Yanbu, Jeddah and Riyadh. We now have 12 properties across the region, and another eight properties in Egypt, Turkey, the UAE and Lebanon are in the pipeline," he said.

The meeting will be held at the 15-storey, 300-roomed Radisson SAS Resort, Sharjah, situated on a private beach and lagoon.

"This hotel has some of the best meeting facilities around and it is important general managers from other countries experience them so that they can also cross-sell the property in their future campaigns," said Pilkington.

Radisson SAS is one of five brands operating under the Rezidor SAS Hospitality umbrella. Rezidor SAS also operates the luxurious Regent brand, lifestyle brand Cerutti, Country Inn and the full service Park Inn, which fit the different market requirements of the region.
