Le Meridien launches 'hotspots' for wireless connections
- Kuwait: Sunday, September 21 - 2003 at 08:29
- PRESS RELEASE
As part of an overall upgrade and extension programme, Le Meridien Kuwait is to unveil the latest IT facility in its lobby this autumn.
The so-called 'hotspot' technology is a new system that is targeted at travellers in particular, doing away with the need to carry around the paraphernalia of technology but enabling them to hook up to the web at the press of a button in certain areas in airports, hotels and even coffee shops.
And for hotels in Kuwait, the system is a first.
Hannes Yaghi, general manager of Le Meridien in Kuwait, explained: "We said when we took over the hotel and revealed our plans for expansion with the A'Amal Hotels Company that Le Meridien would be in the forefront of the hospitality sector in Kuwait. Our customers are now beginning to see the results of this investment in product and facilities."
Following the opening of Le Meridien Kuwait earlier this year, the luxury hotel group will introduce the second phase of its mega-project expansion in the Gulf nation with the opening of the 70-room Le Meridien Safat at the end of the year and a third hotel in the Mubarakia area next year.
These hotels mark the debut of Le Meridien's innovative Art+Tech design in the region, which will provide a unique hotel product for both local and international travellers to Kuwait - a contemporary boutique style offering cutting-edge technology and innovative room design.
"Both these hotels will incorporate the latest technology, but customers can get a sample of the latest offering when we launch wireless IT at Le Meridien Kuwait next month," promised Yaghi.
