According to Dr. Walid Kurdi, CNBC Arabiya Chief Editor, the channel's aim is to present its audiences with an in-depth understanding and implications of the substance of the meetings that will take place from their perspective.

"Most people have limited information about the IMF-World Bank conference," Kurdi said. "Our aim is to give our viewers a deeper understanding of what the event is really all about, highlight the issues under discussion and their financial and economic implications. Our reporters and commentators will seek out stories and opinions that relate to the priorities of our region and make the often arcane and difficult-to-understand world of global economics accessible to a wider audience. Our expertise in regional economics gives us an edge in coverage, while our commitment to the Arab perspective will allow us to report news that affects our region with understanding and empathy."

Continuing from our build-up of the event through our weekly programs , the CNBC Arabiya news teams will be covering all the key events and interviewing top officials from around the world. Kurdi emphasized that CNBC Arabiya coverage will always pass through the filter of a regional Arab perspective. "We will consistently be approaching every piece of news that comes out of the conference and every interview, whether our subject is from the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia or the Americas, with the aim of finding out how this news will impact on our own economies and on our people."
