The Bank also won 'Best Debt House' in the United Arab Emirates.

In announcing the awards, Euromoney magazine said: "HSBC has arguably the most extensive regional presence in the Middle East in terms of both the number of countries in which it operates and the breadth of products that it offers.

In areas such as cash management and risk management and treasury, HSBC Bank Middle East plays a leading role in the region, but with the Bank's unparalleled expertise in Islamic finance and the inclusion of its affiliate, the Saudi British Bank, it has taken the top."

The awards were presented at a ceremony held at the Natural History Museum in London, which was attended by David Hodgkinson, Deputy Chairman, HSBC Bank Middle East and David Moleshead, Head of Debt Finance Advisory, Middle East, HSBC Financial Services (Middle East) Limited.

"We are delighted to have won these awards," said Mr Hodgkinson. "It reflects the continued progress HSBC has made throughout its 110 years of operations in the region. It is a tribute to our loyal customers and hardworking staff."
