New Canon SmartBase MP700 Photo and SmartBase MP730 Photo pack photo quality and high performance into one multifunctional body

These new multifunctionals pack fully-featured and photo-quality professional performance into an innovative and stylish compact design.

Ideal for the small to medium business or advanced home customer, the new multifunctionals eliminate the need for compromise between space, quality and productivity. Both models combine a photo quality Bubble Jet printer, digital copier and flatbed scanner, two media slots for direct photo card print with no PC required, and in the case of the SmartBase MP730 Photo, a Super G3 fax modem, all in one compact high-performance unit.

Perfect photo print capabilities

The SmartBase MP700 Photo and the SmartBase MP730 Photo both offer high performance printing capabilities, with high-speed printing and copying at a rate of up to 22 ppm in monochrome and up to 14 ppm in colour. Canons new state-of-the-art Micro Nozzles with

Advanced MicroFine Droplet Technology deliver a consistent 2 picolitre droplet size from Single Ink tanks, ensuring photo print quality and reduced ink wastage.

Both machines handle photo-quality borderless printing with ease, producing faithful reproduction in A4, 4 x 6 and 5 x 7 photo sizes. Capable of 1200 x 1200 dpi colour and 600 x 600 monochrome copies at high speed, each model enables resizing of originals down to 25% or up to 400%.

Compatibility with memory cards
Both SmartBase models have convenient media slots which accept five popular memory card types; CompactFlash, Smart Media, Memory Stick®, Secure Digital®, and MultiMedia Card, enabling photo printing direct from a digital camera card without the need for a PC, adapter or interface cables. Photos can also be uploaded onto a PC and adjusted using Canons bundled software, with Exif Print support and Photo Noise Reduction.

High-speed intelligent scanning
The SmartBase MP700 Photo and the SmartBase MP730 Photo both include a 1200 x 2400dpi scanner, which utilises Canons lens technology to produce clear, clean scans every time. Using fast Multi-Photo Scan, multiple photos scanned at the same time are saved as separate files. Alternatively, the scanner software can store a multi-page document as a single file.

Furthermore, Canons Original Detection enables both models to detect an image as soon as it is placed in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).

In addition to all these features, the SmartBase MP730 Photo includes a 33.6 kbps Super G3 fax with colour capability and a 30 sheet ADF. A monochrome page takes around three seconds to fax while a colour fax page takes around one minute. The memory can store up to 250 incoming pages to prevent the loss of faxes, should the machine run out of ink or paper. In addition, PC-to-Fax capability allows for fax transmission directly from a PC without the need to print the document first.
