GITEX 2003 expands to Sheikh Rashid Hall

Due to a long waiting list of potential exhibitors, organisers Dubai World Trade Centre announced that Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum Hall will also be utilised for GITEX 2003 making it a central location for exhibitors to network.

"One of the unique features of the Sheikh Rashid Hall is its versatility, the hall measures 7,760 square metres and is divisible by operable walls and its flexibility enables it to be used in various configurations for multifarious purposes including as an exhibition venue," said DWTC Director General, Mubarak bin Fahad.

He noted that the Sheikh Rashid Hall has been designed to offer maximum flexibility and an ideal environment that can accommodate a range of options, from sporting events, to operas and from theatrical productions to plenary sessions.

"Whatever the function, the Sheikh Hall can be configured to create the perfect ambience to achieve the unique goals of planners," Mr. bin Fahad remarked.

The Sheikh Rashid Hall features operable soundproof walls and flexible seating that enables organisers to define styles to suit their needs. Whether an event requires a centre stage and tiered seating for 6,000, or an "in-the-round" option that places the focus in the centre of the floor with seating encircling it.

GITEX 2003 will feature all facets of the Information Technology industry. With more than 35,000 square metres of gross exhibition space already sold in eight interconnected halls the event is set to be the biggest ever.

Leading IT companies have indicated strong enthusiasm in GITEX Dubai 2003 with industry leaders like IBM, Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, HP, Samsung, Toshiba, Canon, NEC, Acer, LG Electronics, Panasonic, Sony, Fujitsu, Sanyo, Etisalat, DAFZA, Thuraya and Epson among others securing a strong presence at the show.

GITEX this year will showcase an entire range of IT related products and services with a significant focus on e-business and e-commerce solutions. Other products include uninterrupted power supply solutions, desktop publishing, digital imaging & information management Internet products, mobile computing & WAP technology, networking & business communication, office automation, computer hardware and many others.
