DHL appoints National Security Manager to protect customers' shipments and guard company assets
- Saudi Arabia: Sunday, September 28 - 2003 at 15:30
- PRESS RELEASE
DHL, the world's leading express and logistics company, has announced the appointment of Mr. Jurie Human as its National Security Manager.
Born in Johannesburg, Mr. Human has a diploma in Police Management and spent ten years in the South African Police Force specializing in Field Investigation. Most recently he worked as security manager for a leading IT company in South Africa.
"DHL is a complex express and logistics operation that requires advanced security methods, techniques and equipment, and it is my job to ensure that these elements are in place to provide DHL customers and staff alike with the reassurance that state-of-the-art measures are there for the protection of their persons and property," said Mr. Human.
The size and importance of DHL's Saudi network, which is undergoing substantial expansion due to rapid market growth, prompted the decision to appoint a dedicated professional security officer for the Kingdom with the responsibility for building-up a structured security team under his command.
Another deciding factor was the increased demand for DHL's warehousing and distribution service that is being widely used by customers and requires a specialized level of security and protection.
The appointment of Mr. Human establishes a single point of contact for all DHL security matters in the kingdom, with the expertise and experience to implement long term safety and security plans, and the authority to make on-the-spot decisions and take prompt action in critical situations.
