Al Hida'a at Expo Centre Sharjah gets good response

'The German based 'Dr. Mauch Footwear,' created on the recently introduced revolutionary concept of 'reflexology' for footwear design has been well accepted in the UAE market,' remarked Mr. Aswani K, Marketing Manager of Gulf Footwear, sole representatives of the brand and a participant at the ongoing Al Hida'a exhibition at Expo Centre Sharjah.

'Based on the fact that the human body possesses energy channels, which connect specific reference zones, reflexology aims to reduce stress through gentle massage of the pressure points in the foot,' Mr. Aswani explained. 'Due to the tremendous response received by us in the past show, we are exhibiting for the second time at Al Hida'a,' said Mr. Aswani.

Besides the international participants, the Middle East's only dedicated leather complete has a significant presence from some of UAE's leading footwear manufacturers.

Emirates Shoe Factory, also a prominent leather footwear manufacturer in the UAE, is a happy first-time participant at the show. 'Our objective for exhibiting at Al Hida'a is to introduce our latest products and designs,' said Mr Mohammed Khalil, Managing Director of the Emirates Shoe Factory. 'Our complete range of footwear products are hand made and our entire requirements of raw materials and accessories are sourced from Italy. We are satisfied with the way the show has been organised and the facilities provided by Expo Centre Sharjah,' he noted.

This has been the broad sentiment shared by most exhibitors at Al Hida'a 2003, which will run upto Tuesday, 30th September. The show has been well received by leather industry professionals and businessmen from the GCC countries, who see it as an important sourcing and networking opportunity. The current edition showcases the international leather industry's latest trends, designs and options in finished leather products, as well as in materials and components; embodying great new ideas and opportunities for businesses in the Middle East region.

Featuring the entire range of footwear, finished leather products, tanned leather products, tanned leather, components and accessories, the show profile includes shoes, boots, slippers, sandals, wallets, briefcases, travel-ware garments, gloves, shoe uppers, footwear components, shoe making components & materials, metal accessories for leather goods & shoes, part processed & finished leather, miscellaneous leather products, pvc coated synthetic leather, ladies bags, portfolio bags and pouches.

The show is open for trade, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm everyday till 30 September, 2003.
