Record visitors attend Thailand Exhibition

Visitors from 43 countries attended the 8th Thailand Exhibition, which is underway at the Expo Centre Sharjah, the largest show in the series.

More than 8,408 visitors had attended the show by end of day two which ends tonight.

'The visitor attendance has surpassed all last shows with an increase of 12.9 per cent,' said, Mubarak Balaswad, Director General, Expo Centre Sharjah. 'The Thai Ministry of Commerce this year introduced the Distribution Network pavilion and Intertrader which were well received.'

The Distribution Network specialises in taking Thai Brands to international markets and Intertrader puts visitors in touch with any company or product from Thailand that might not be at the show, Intertrader has 1,300 member companies.

Meanwhile, visitors to the show praised the quality of products on display. 'I am going back with quite a few samples and will be signing some orders over the next couple of days,' said Riyadh based owner, Aseeri Saleh of a gifts shop Oriental Palace.

Another exporter, Abdullah Yaslam O. Al Tamimi, from Dubai said, 'The show is excellent as we don't have to travel all the way to Thailand and can sample various products under one roof. I have earmarked a few companies that I will keep contact with for deliveries to meet the Ramadan demand.'

The show is open trade visitors from 10am to 1pm and to trade and public from 4.30pm to 8.30pm, children under 16 will not be admitted.
