New 94-bed hospital to open in Dubai

Lifeline Hospital Group of Abu Dhabi and Mir Hashem Khoory (MHK) Group, a family business house from Dubai, officially announced the details of their partnership to further healthcare across the UAE earlier today exclusively at Arab Health.
Umm Hurrair Hospital, a 115,000 sq ft, seven-floor plus three basement building close to Burjuman Centre, will provide a wide range of clinical specialties focusing on the mid-income segment of Dubai residents. In addition to the 94 inpatient beds, its world-class multi-specialist facilities will include operating rooms, daycare, endoscopy and delivery suites. These will be supported by diagnostic imaging, a laboratory and pharmacy services.
Lifeline Hospital Group of Abu Dhabi will be operating and managing the hospital. Speaking at the press conference earlier today, Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil, Managing Director Lifeline Hospital Group said, "We are delighted to be working with the MHK Group to extend high quality and affordable healthcare services to the residents of Dubai. The development of the new hospital is progressing well and we expect to be fully operational and welcome our first patients by early 2014."
Mr. Shoaib Khoory, Managing Director MHK Group, an organisation with a number of business interests in the UAE added, "We consider this project as the beginning of a long-term partnership between Mir Hashem Khoory Group and Lifeline Hospital Group and we are looking forward to future projects together both locally and regionally."
Executive Director at MHK, Mr. Shafiq Mir Hashem Khoory concluded, "The Mir Hashem Khoory Group has identified a number of opportunities in the UAE healthcare market, and we are delighted to have such a prestigious opportunity with the Umm Hurrair Hospital to expand further."
