Saudi mulls metro rail service in holy cities

The Saudi Railway Organization (SRO) is studying the feasibility of metro rail services in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, Arab News has reported. The SRO also said it will issue the licences for the train services on the newly built Northern Railway to Saudi Arabian Railway Co (SAR), said SRO president Abdul Aziz Al-Hokail. Minister of Transport Jabara Al-Seraisry, also chairman of the SRO's board of directors, chaired the meeting.
