Solferino has held a number of high-profile positions around the world, specialising in food and beverage, before coming to the Abu Dhabi Grand where he will definitely set pace to all changes by focusing on three genuine key tools: Quality, service and creativity.

At the Abu Dhabi Grand, the 42-year-old has taken charge of the operations of the existing facilities, while playing a key role in the final touches of the 8 new outlets to open later this year.

He said: 'We have huge plans for the hotel in general, and for the F&B in particular, with the new outlets to come, we will be setting new standards in the capital city: the re-vamped existing Italian restaurant, the Irish pub and the only revolving restaurant in Abu Dhabi, other outlets to come are the Noodle bar, a seafood restaurant, a 24-hour dining Brasserie, a lobby lounge, a modern cafe and a gourmet shop that will sell homemade delicatessen and 'unexpected goodies'.

'The task is enormous but Solferino's F&B background and wide experience in many hotels around the world will make the experience a smooth one', said Francesco Borrello, the general manager of the hotel.

Solferino studied at the ENAIP, a hotel school in Italy and started his career as a Maitre D' in a prestigious hotel in Monte Carlo, before working up to his current position via Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Before joining Abu Dhabi Grand he was Director of Operations at Le Royal Meridien Bahrain. This last position has given him an avant-gout of what Abu Dhabi's will be. 'I am here to be part of an opening team, which makes the position more challenging and the success more rewarding', he added.

He is married to Ivana and is father to Ernesto and Mariangela.
