LG Notebooks, PCs & Phones in GITEX debut show to be huge product launchpad for digital leader
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, October 04 - 2003 at 10:19
- PRESS RELEASE
LG notebooks and PCs will make their Middle East exhibition debut at Gitex 2003, the region's main information technology showcase being held in Dubai this month, along with new cutting-edge models from the digital leader's expanding mobile phone range.
"The state-of-the-art stand is bigger, better and gives a complete overview of the rapid development of LG Electronics in the Gulf in just one year," said Choi.
The showcasing of the PCs and notebooks follows the recent launch of the LG branded products into the Middle East - the first region outside Korea to market the lines.
And the global and regional digital leader says its cutting-edge notebooks and PCs will be backed up by one of its most exciting Gitex displays, which will feature a host of new product launches - including two new cutting-edge mobile phones.
"New additions to the already popular LG Multi-net PC and LG CyNote Zebra notebook will be introduced at the show," said P.C. Choi, President, LG Electronics, Gulf FZE. "We will also debut at Gitex new multi-drive optical storage devices, portable optical storage devices, mobile phones and five new monitors from our award-winning Flatron LCD range."
LG is currently the leading monitor and optical storage supplier throughout the Middle East and Africa while the introduction of PCs and notebooks into the region rounded up its regional I.T. offering to cover every product segment.
"The new additions to the PC and notebook range will take us closer to reaching our aim of owning 20% regional market share by the end of next year," explained Choi.
LG reports that its PCs and notebooks have been in strong demand throughout the region since their arrival in May.
"The first two shipments sold within days," explained Choi. "With new products being added to the line up, LG's standing in these segments will be greatly enhanced."
The two mobile phones to debut at Gitex are the LG 7100 and LG 5400 folder-type phones.
The LG 7100, which is MMS compatible, has a swivel LCD high function camera with flash, which can rotate 270 degrees. The phone also has Java software built in so that games can be downloaded from the Internet using Java platforms as does the LG 5400 LCD coloured screen phone. Both phones have a unique feature that will be unveiled at Gitex.
"These new phones will further expand an already successful LG mobile range," said Choi. "In just over a year, LG has become a serious competitor in the region's mobile market."
