Dewan to sponsor Summit on reconstruction of Iraq

Dewan Architects and Engineers will be sponsoring a high-level conference on the process of reconstructing Iraq, to be held on the last day of Cityscape at the Grand Hyatt Dubai.

A good response is expected, as the keynote speakers will be prominent members of international organisations.

Mohammed Al Assam, Founder/Managing Director Dewan, says, "Everyone knows about the enormous amount of projects available in Iraq today, but very few are aware of the proper channels to be used to win those contracts. This summit will provide the perfect opportunity to obtain all the relevant information and data needed for this. Speakers from different organisations such as the Iraqi Consul, senior representatives from the Iraqi Reconstruction and Development Council (IRDC), the ESCWA and Al Tamimi will be addressing the summit. Each of them will express their individual opinions and views, which will help shed some light on the level of development in Iraq, as well as promote a better understanding of the current situation there".

Al Assam adds, "Our decision to sponsor this conference stems from our deep belief in the importance of supporting and backing the ongoing efforts to rebuild Iraq as soon as possible. The timing is particularly fortunate, as our Company is opening a branch office in Baghdad at around the same time, which will be fully staffed with engineers, architects and other relevant personnel".

The Iraqi delegation at the recently concluded Dubai 2003 played an important role in enlightening the international community, on the recent amendments and changes in Iraq's laws and investment regulations. This should significantly improve the global response to investing in Iraq.
