Dubai Press Club gears up for the 2003 Arab Media Summit

Dubai Press Club is hosting the Arab Media Summit at the Madinat Jumeirah on October 7th & 8th. A fully equipped Media Center will be set up at the venue to facilitate the journalists from local and international newspapers who will be covering this prestigious event.

The Media Center will have state of the art equipment including digital cameras, computers with Internet connection, phone and fax. The Media Center will source out the speeches of the speakers and press releases on each session.

The team at the Media Center will also co-ordinate press briefings with the media personalities for the journalists.

Mai Mohammed Sulaiman, Media Center Coordinator said, "This is an event which evokes a lot of interest from media and to ensure that the stories make it to the news faster we decided to set up a fully equipped Media Center . A dedicated team of professionals will be at hand to provide support to the journalists covering the Arab Media Summit."

She added, "The recently instituted Photography Group has been involved to capture the event photographically. The team from the Group would be covering the Summit as well as the many social gatherings and events that would be taking place over the two days."

Qasim Al Hammady, the Co-ordinator of the Photography Group said, "It's a welcome opportunity and a challenge to cover a event that brings together such prominent personalities. We will provide a resource center of digital photographs of the event for all journalists, local as well as international."

This will be the third summit in the annual series. This year's Summit being held under the theme of 'War & the Media' will focus on the role of the media in war situations - with a case study focused on how the media operated during the Iraq War.
