- PRESS RELEASE
Gulf International Bank (GIB) is the lead sponsor of the MEED Project Finance Conference that is taking place on the 7th and 8th of October 2003 at the Sheraton Hotel, Bahrain.
GIB is the region's pre-eminent project finance arranger and enjoys an international reputation for its expertise in this field. GIB's specialisation in the project finance field commenced since its establishment in the mid-1970's. Various accolades have been received in recent years that are testimony to its leading position. In 2001 and 2002 GIB was recognised as the leading project finance arranger in the Middle East.
"Over the years we have continued to develop our in-house skills and extend our network of relationships with international banks, multinational corporations, investors, export credit agencies and local sponsors. Our leading position in regional project finance is attributable to both our skill-base and market knowledge," commented Dr. Khaled Al-Fayez, GIB's Chief Executive Officer.
GIB is a dominant force in Middle East banking and is poised to play a significant role in the future economic development of the region. Its financial strength is based on conservative asset and liability management policies, its high-quality asset profile and strong capital base. It has investment grade ratings from all three major international credit rating agencies: Fitch, Moody's and Standard & Poor's.
