- PRESS RELEASE
The Chairman of the Zubair Corporation, Mr. Rashad M. Al Zubair, will proudly present a number of trophies to stage winners during this year's Tour of Oman when the fourth stage is completed on February 17th in Wadi Kabir.
Commenting on the support for this spectacular cycling event that will be on air via 22 television broadcasting stations to audiences in 180 countries around the world, Zubair Corporation Chairman Rashad M. Al Zubair said that the company was delighted to be once again backing a world class pan-Oman sporting occasion.
He said, "We are delighted to be associated with the 2012 event as a main sponsor of an event that is one of the most exciting events during the ongoing Muscat Festival. This event will further strengthen Oman's credentials as a major tourist destination with recent accolades that have included Muscat being named the 2012 Capital of Arab Tourism as well as being voted the second best city in the world to visit by Lonely Planet, with only the Olympic Games host city of London voted ahead of the Sultanate."
He added, "The Zubair Corporation is fully committed to supporting the Government and Muscat Municipality in its vision to promote high-profile international events such as professional cycling which will in turn contribute to enhanced social and economic benefits for Oman."
As part of the agreement the Zubair Corporation will be the key sponsor for the fourth stage of the race - which will cover 142km from Bidbid to the finish line in Wadi Kabir.
Here Mr. Rashad M. Al Zubair will proudly have the honour to officially present a number of trophies to the winners of the fourth stage who will be participating in a race that has this year attracted more riders and has had its overall length extended by 25km.
The Zubair Corporation's commitment to the 2012 Tour of Oman cycle race, and its broader sponsorship of the Muscat Festival, is a natural extension of the fact that for more than four decades the company has been proud to support the nation's biggest events - helping to ensure the preservation of the Sultanate's rich national culture and traditions for future generations, while continuing to look ahead to promote Oman as a viable and enticing tourist destination.
