DHL re-launches its Import Express Service

Following the tremendous success of the Import Express (IMPEX) service since its introduction, DHL Express, the global leader in express and logistics services headquartered in Brussels, has recently re-introduced the service in the Middle East.

Since the initial launch of the Impex's service, DHL has not only experienced dramatic growth in its overall transactions but has also reinforced in its reputation as a leader in quality, speed and reliability of service.

The Impex service enables clients to save time and money while reducing the risk of error, loss or damage of shipments by giving DHL the full responsibility for handling the overall importing process at the pre-determined rate and extreme billing flexibility.

"Our inclusive vision was to enhance the image of DHL as a leader in the international express and logistics industry while at the same time accentuating our commitment and support to the regional arena of trade and commerce" explained Phil Couchman, Area Director for DHL Middle East. "The launch of Import Express has fulfilled that vision, bringing with it great success not only in the expansion of the overall business but most importantly in the loyalty portrayed by our regional clients who continue to perceive DHL as a reliable service provider, eager to facilitate the life of its customers in every possible way," continued Couchman.

On the business level, Import Express's international network has greatly benefited the Bahraini market by enabling companies to import goods at a faster pace from a wider range of countries around the world, thus reducing their costs and improving their customer service, all of which combined, grant them a competitive edge.

According to Ali Sarrafzadeh, Commercial Director for DHL Middle East, "Import Express has come to reflect the growth of imports into the region which has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world. Importing via DHL's air express service is simple, cost-effective and highly reliable. This inbound service has become a convenient door-to door, all-inclusive priced facility and has been embraced by the importers of the Middle East region who have felt the rewards resulting from the use of Import Express," added Sarrafzadeh.

An added advantage to this service is that both sender and receiver can track the progress of shipments via DHL's web site or by e-mail due to DHL's unique e-Track service, just by using their personal Impex account number. The clients thus sustain the direct control of deliveries and costs.

This year, DHL is celebrating the re-launch of its Import Express service by offering instant rewards to all those who send shipments through this service. Furthermore, for those who send over a specified amount of shipments, depending on the trading pattern of each company, they will instantly be entitled to enter the Monthly Free Ticket draw on Emirates Airlines to any destination of their choice within the Emirates network. This campaign will take place until the end of December 2003. This initiative conveys DHL's appreciation to its clients for their support and the company's continued commitment to bringing the best in air express and logistics service.
