OBE Organic takes part in Gulfood 2012

  • United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, February 21 - 2012 at 13:29
  • PRESS RELEASE

Australian organic beef producer OBE Organic is in Dubai for the Gulfood 2012 exhibition and food industry trade event. It's an important step in developing a quality distribution chain in the UAE for the world's largest and most established producer of organic beef.

OBE Organic is proudly a family business. Chairman David Brook heads a co-operative of farmers with more than seven million hectares of Australia's best cattle grazing pastures (a size equivalent to six times the land mass of Qatar) and 25,000 head of cattle.

David Brook is a driving force in the industry for natural organic farming, and for maintaining traditional farming methods. Now, OBE Organic has gone a step further by developing a certified halal organic meat product that offers a healthy beef option for families in the Middle East.

David speaks regularly on the benefits of their organic farming processes that meet the halal requirements of sanitized conditions and sterile slaughterhouses.

He says, "It is important that all the processes are free of hormones, pesticides and chemicals. OBE Organic's cattle live stress-free lives which contribute to the quality of the world's safest and besttasting organic beef. They graze on the grasslands of Australia's pristine Channel Country, land that is high in nutrients and minerals. OBE organic beef contains iron, zinc, and Vitamin D & B. It also contains high levels of Omega 3, good essential fats that reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer."

David Brook went on to say, "There are many reasons why Australian organic meat is safer than others. The Channel Country is protected from pollutants and the cattle are free-ranging. Born and raised the way nature intended, they feed on some 250 species of native grasslands and herbaceous plants."

He said, "We pride ourselves in our integrity in offering only quality beef to the UAE. OBE Organic already has a distribution network in Kuwait where we offer a totally trustworthy quality organic halal product."

David's daughter Dalene Wray is OBE Organic's Regional Manager in Asia, where she has been successfully developing the organic beef market over the last ten years.

Dalene said, "We are so proud to be present at this year's Gulfood event. Customers in our other Muslim markets in Indonesia and Malaysia have grown to love our beef, and we are sure that households in the Arabian Gulf will do too."

"Our beef is juicy and tender with a superior taste, and meets the world's highest safety and nutritional qualities. Our vision is to have all Arabic families enjoying organic beef as a staple part of their diet," she added.
