New Gold Shop results in 15 per cent increase in gold sales

H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Department of Civil Aviation, Dubai, officially inaugurated the Gold Shop at Dubai Duty Free yesterday.

    H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, cut a gold ribbon to officially inaugurate the Gold Shop and was accompanied by Colm McLoughlin, Managing Director, Dubai Duty Free, George Horan, General Manager, Dubai Duty Free and Brendan O' Shea, Deputy General Manager, Operations and Stores, Dubai Duty Free and Salah Tahlak, Senior Manager-Promotions & Advertising, Dubai Duty Free.
Located in the centre of the duty free operation in Sheikh Rashid Terminal, the circular-designed shop covers an area of 23 square metres and features a wide range of 18, 22 and 24 carat gold.

With Gold sales already showing an increase of 15% since the opening of the shop in mid-September, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free, Colm McLoughlin, expects Gold sales to continue growing. "Gold is a leading category and now with this new attractive shop, which is the first shop visible to departing passengers, we expect sales to continue to grow even further in the last quarter of this year."
