Hyundai Motor Company has announced the appointment of Mr Tom Lee as the new Head of its Middle East Regional Headquarters. As regional head of the fastest growing automotive manufacturer in the world, Lee is tasked with building on the considerable success that Hyundai has enjoyed in the Middle East over recent years.

Lee takes over from Mr B. T. Shin, who has moved on to the role of Director in Export Administration Group in Hyundai Headquarters. His appointment to the position comes at a significant time for Hyundai.

The Korean automotive giant enjoyed its best ever sales figures in 2011, with 4.06 million vehicles sold globally, a result of the company's dedication to improving the quality of its stylish and advanced range of cars.

Tom Lee, who holds a Master's degree from George Washington University, joined Hyundai Motor Company in 1986. Throughout his 26 year career with Hyundai he has worked in both Korea and the United States. Prior to taking over the role as Head of the Middle East office, he worked as Director of the Export Planning Group in Hyundai Headquarters in Korea.

Commenting on his new position, Lee said: "I am honoured to take up this key role within Hyundai in such an important and growing market. We will continue to work closely with our excellent network of distributors across the GCC and Levant to build the brand image, to increase awareness of the wide range of top quality models available from the company, and to ensure that our clients continue to enjoy the highest levels of customer service."
