Little is known of the phone's features, which is the successor to the SII, deemed by many to be one of the top Android based smart phones on the market. A report by technology blog Boy Genius has claimed it is to feature a 4.8-inch 1080p resolution display, a 1.5ghz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera. It is also believed the phone will run on Android 4.0.
Samsung had a strong showing at last week's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, launching the Galaxy Beam phone, which features projector technology, enabling the phone to show videos and images at up to 50 inches.
The firm also revealed the Galaxy Note 10.1, an update to the current Galaxy Note available already. The original device, a 7-inch tablet, has now been updated and released in a 10.1 inch size. It is rumoured that Apple is to release a 7-inch version of its market leading iPad.
Middle East sees strong sales in Galaxy S range
In the Middle East, retailers have seen the Note perform well, although the main source of excitement has been the Galaxy S range.
"The Note has been successful but the Galaxy SII probably has more appeal to the everyday user. There is a lot of anticipation now for the launch of the Galaxy SIII," Ashish Panjabi, COO of Jacky's Electronics tells AMEinfo.com.
